Currently a Teacher of ICT at Dixons City Academy, Bradford, England. As well as teaching, Daniel recently acquired the new position of Technology Innovations Coordinator. This includes staff training, running focus groups, developing and testing new technologies, co-ordinating with external organisations, assisting with the 1:1 tablet implementation and ensure its ongoing success. In the past he has also been the Drugs Peer Education Coordinator, whereby he recruited up to 40 year 12 students who he trained to plan and run drugs education lessons for year 8 students.
With a background in Web programming, he has a great passion in how technology can be integrated across all curriculum, more specifically, its use in solving problems and breaking down barriers. Using Windows and Macs at home and to teach in the classroom has helped him to develop an expertise of both platforms. Since being an NQT, he has used several different Apple iOS devices to aid in his pedagogy. At present, he is one of the Academy’s coordinators in a 1:1 Android tablet rollout. These experiences make him very well attuned to understanding how iOS and android can aid learning and teaching in the classroom.
