What is TALK @ EASE app?

TALK @ EASE is an app that helps users to develop their confidence in the English language through a series of different approaches. By using conversation and scenario types the app scaffolds different types of conversations that the user may come across in situations such as the workplace, travel and family. Once a topic scenario has been chosen the user can chose to engage in a conversation with the AI, work on their pronunciation or listen to a ready-made conversation taking place.

The app is very simple to use and has been designed to an extremely high quality. Each page has a clean, professional look to it with a very simple and easy-to-understand navigation. There is a mixture of UK and US version conversations which means the app can be used for English learners in both countries. 

As the app is more about helping learners become more confident in conversing in English through a series of scenarios it is aimed more at the adult market, especially with one whole section dedicated to Business and Office Life. However, that isn’t to say that someone younger wouldn’t get anything out of the app just that the purpose is more for an older user. I would also suggest that as the app does not focus on language techniques and grammar, but more on conversations and improving confidence that it also requires the user to have a knowledge of speaking English. It is more of an app for refining their abilities rather than teaching them directly the English language.

There are a few different elements to the app all aimed at helping to improve confidence in the types of conversations that someone might have and scenarios they may find themselves in. Part of this involves having a conversation back and forth with the highly intelligent AI software (the voice changes accent depending on whether you are using the American and English conversation points). Another is working on improving pronunciation by listening to a sentence and then reading, speaking it back to the app and the final is by listening to a conversation taking place in the scenario and taking part by selecting the conversation strain you’d like to follow. The app looks like it is constantly working on ways to improve too with a role-play and quiz element due to be released on the app soon.

What we love about TALK @ EASE

Everything about this app is brilliant from the design and layout of the app to the user experience and content. It has been designed incredibly well, to make it as easy as possible to access and to be clear and simple on what it is trying to achieve. The user experience is definitely a positive one and at no time was I clicking buttons trying to work something out as it was clear how I can use and get the most out of the app.

What skills does it improve?

TALK @ EASE app improves users’ confidence in the English language, whether it be American English or English English. Through scenarios linked to real life the app also helps to teach users the correct language and pronunciation of words to enable them to take part in these conversations in the real world, confidently and successfully.

What age is it appropriate for?

TALK @ EASE app, I would suggest is aimed at older users who already have a good grasp of the English language but are looking for ways to improve their pronunciation of certain words and to improve their confidence in taking part in conversations in the real life settings.

Is TALK @ EASE easy to use?

For the user the app is incredibly easy to use and access.

How will students benefit?

Students will benefit from being able to access an app that will build their confidence when it comes to speaking in rea life conversations in the English language. They will also benefit from having the ability to regularly practice these scenarios and their responses as well as having a guide, through the intelligent AI system, correcting them and helping them to make sure they get it right.

How will teachers benefit?

In the same way that students will benefit from the app teachers will be able to set students work on improving certain scenarios to engage and improve their students’ spoken language abilities.

How will parents benefit?

There are many benefits for parents too especially as they could potentially benefit from using the app alongside their child too, if they are also new to the English language.

What TALK @ EASE can improve on?

From using the app it looks like the developers are already thinking of ways in which they can continue to improve what they offer. From adding in different ways to accessing the learning and practicing through the use of quizzes etc will be an excellent addition to continue to make the app as good as it can be.

What is included with the free version vs. paid?

There is a subscription model used to be able to access the content in the app. These range in prices and there are different options from 1 month subscriptions to 3 or 6 months ones.

Is TALK @ EASE safe to use?

TALK @ EASE app content is completely child-friendly and contains no content that could be considered inappropriate or unsafe for children.

Overall rating of the app

TALK @ EASE app has received a 5 star EAS rating and this is due to the premise of the app and the potential learning within it. I was very much impressed by all aspects of TALK @ EASE.
