About Starfall ABCs

Starfall ABC is a free alphabet app for teaching young children the alphabet and letter sounds. It includes a lot of ABC animations, animated interactive books and other reading exercises.

Teacher Review

Starfall ABCs is a solid early-learning app with a thorough approach to presenting the alphabet to preschoolers. Pick a letter and away your child goes. Watch the twinkling arrows or letters to indicate move to the next page. Hear the letter name, hear the letter sound, see the letter and see a word using the first letter sound.

Kids hear the sounds of each letter repeated often and can both hear and see how each letter is used in words. Each word has some cute animations they can trigger, followed by interactive games such as puzzles and mazes, as well as chances to see words used in sentences.

This app helps children work on letter recognition, letter sound and sight words to increase vocabulary. This app is great for auditory and visual learners and is quite interactive. Developmentally disabled students who are either non-verbal, having difficulty with beginning sounds, or are not native English language learners have benefited from this app. It is a great addition to a Preschool, kindergarten or first grade class when learning the letter of the week.
