About Kobo Books

Kobo books app is a wonderful source of digital content and especially, after the addition of audiobooks to the bookstore, it has become the one-stop destination for single online ebooks and audiobooks.

Kobo Books Review

Rakuten’s Kobo is a major player amongst the best audiobook apps for reading books. It boasts an extensive collection of ebooks and magazines, with an incredible range of features to personalize and streamline your reading experience.

It also has a growing number of audiobooks on its platform, almost surpassing the Kindle’s account of ebooks.

This e-reader is likely the Kindle's biggest competitor. The Aura is water-resistant and large-screened, so you can read your favorite books on a big screen in the bath or at the beach without a worry.

You're not limited to e-books from Kobo's store, either, which is a big plus. As long as the file type is supported by Kobo, you can drag and drop the content from your computer onto the Kobo when they're connected with a USB-to-Micro-USB cable. The Aura One even has the popular library app OneDrive pre-installed, so you can easily hook up your library account on your e-reader.

The Kobo app features over 5 million titles and lets you grab content from its online store as well as import your own. It supports numerous formats (epub, PDF, CBZ, CBR...) and has many customization settings available to users. You can also check other eBook reader apps.

The interface is simple in the Kobo app but may be a little too simple. As far as the reading interface is concerned, Kobo is alright. It has settings for Day, Night, or Sepia as well as adjusting the text alignment, columns, and text size. Its page customization options don't seem as thorough as some of the other apps, but it's still plenty customizable.

Kobo added audiobooks to their e-bookstore and now, in this single online destination, you can buy both ebooks (including comic books and textbooks) and audiobooks. The audiobook player is beautifully crafted, with a nice slider that makes it easy to navigate through the book with one touch. You can slow down or speed up the narration, as well as see how much time is left.

There’s also a special feature called Reading Life that connects you to the world of social reading. You can discuss books, share notes, and even quotes with your Facebook friends. The list of Kobo’s amazing features and functions is never-ending.
