Kids Animal Pro is a simple yet enormously fun app that allows users to play songs on an interactive keyboard piano.

The various animal sounds that can be chosen and played on the piano will keep your child entertained for hours whilst they learn about the various sounds of the animal kingdom – offering perfect Edutainment! Ever wondered what a cat meowing to ‘Itsy Bitsy Spider’ would sound like? Well wonder no more!

The visuals are not fancy, but really vibrant, colourful and inviting. Upon opening the app, you are presented with a bright and colourful keyboard and two rows of icons that run along the top. The appearance is very engaging and encourages the user to test out each sound and song. Each icon on the bottom row has caricature-type image displaying the corresponding animal for the sound. The top row allows you to choose which song you would like the animal sound to play – there is no key as to explain which icon relates to which song; however your child will soon learn and recognise these, offering memory and concentration practice (cognitive development).

The range of animal sounds are what make this app most appealing as you can choose from a frog to rubber duck to a cowbell to a dog (and so on) offering amusing but also life-like sounds that will amuse but at the same time educate your child. The app offers good cognitive development practice as you are encouraged to remember which icon relates to which song – your child can also begin to use their logic to decipher which icon will play the song that they want to hear. The potential for creative development is also very high, your child can memorise and recite the pre-made songs or they can choose an instrument and create their own – encouraging your child to explore light music composition in a fun and engaging way. It can also help your child to express themselves through music.

Kids Animal Piano is well designed, simple and easy to use and will steal hours of your kids attention, however we do feel that it has slightly missed the mark in offering a practical learning tool. Kids Animal Piano could offer more educational value by actually offering instructions on how to play each song rather than just playback. This would allow users to actively learn and recite the songs meaning they could potentially play them on a real piano or keyboard.
