About Google Keep

Google Keep let you create notes, edit and organize them on-the-go. You can use this note taking app to add lists, photos, and audio to your notes. Finding notes on Google Keep is made simple as it supports filtering them based on color or attributes like shared notes, audio notes, list with images, etc. Google Keep adds note-taking and syncing to Google Drive and Android devices, but compared with similar services, it's a merely a fawn trying to find its legs.

Google Keep Review

Google Keep's Web app lets you make notes that are textual or image-based, but that's really it. Yes, you can make a checklist, but that's still just text. To make other kinds of notes, such as audio recordings and drawings, you need to use Google Keep's mobile apps, available for Android and iOS.

Google Reminders are calendar entries that are different from appointments and meetings, but are still included alongside all your other time-management issues. Reminders can be time-dependent, and you can even set defaults in your account so that if you want to be reminded of something in the "morning," Google Reminders/Keep will know what time you mean.

If you're using Keep regularly, its workspace is going to get filled up fairly quickly. But this being a Google product, the app's search smarts are robust. Tap the search bar at the top of the screen, which will display search categories. Filter by reminders, lists, images, drawings, or links. The app also supports color coding—red for grocery lists and blue for work-related to-do lists, for example—so you can search by hue, as well.

Price and Plan

Google Keep is free with no upsells or special plans. All it requires is a Google account. The amount of storage space you get in Keep is dependent on your Google Drive storage, which is 15GB by default. It might be higher if you pay for extra storage or other Google services that include a bump in storage space. For $1.99 per month, you can get 1TB of space, for example. There is a max file upload size of 10MB or 25MP, and the supported file types are GIF, JPEG, JPG, PNG, and WEBP.
