Genius Scan is a simple, flexible, scanner app with a nice set of features. Once you scan your document, contract, or note, you can export it as a JPEG or multiple-page PDF file, which is handy. If being able to fine tune everything about your scanned documents is the way you want to go, Genius Scan is an excellent option.

Genius Scan is a good scanner app for iOS and Android devices. Easily scan documents by taking a picture with your phone. GeniusScan turns them into a scan and you can then email them out from the app. Like most people, I don’t have a scanner when I need one. Genius Scan definitely makes life a bit easier when you are on the go.

What is Genius Scan

Genius Scan is the free pdf scanner app that meets all your document scanning needs. Genius Scan is a very easy-to-use app that will scan anything, correct the perspective, and give you tools to enhance it in black and white for better legibility. You can also batch scan so you can add pages quickly. You can create JPEG or PDF files with multiple pages. Similar to other document scanning apps, you can organize all your scans in folders and export them to your favorite cloud service. You’ll have to pay for a subscription to take advantage of the Genius Scan cloud service. The subscription costs $3 per month or $30 per year. This app is compatible with Touch ID.

Magic mode does an impressive job of image capture, quickly and accurately.

Cons

Some features are now only available in the premium version.
No OCR, which could be a deal-killer for some users.

You can separate documents into folders, name each document or folder, and even tag documents. This means you can have taxes from multiple years in different folders that can still be found by searching through your tagging system.

If having a clean and intuitive UI that gives you access to a few features without going overboard is what you're after, then it's Genius Scan that you should take a look at. The one flaw with Genius Scan is that to get access to the full sharing capabilities, you'll need to pony up $4.95 for a premium subscription.
