You may think of Evernote as a simple note-taking platform, but it has expanded well beyond that to include document sharing and collaboration tools. It's a great tool for capturing brainstorming sessions, storing documents, and embedding audio and images into notes.
What is Evernote?
You may be asking yourself, "what does the Evernote do?" This productivity tool can shift the way kids manage information in school and the way teachers share it. Evernote can be used for creating student portfolios, lesson planning, classroom management, taking minutes of meeting and instruction.
Your dashboard buttons running down the left-hand side of the screen for adding notes, searching, opening a work chat, creating shortcuts, viewing notes and notebooks, and tags.
Teachers can also use Evernote for research. It allows them to collect a large number of resources without having to spend the time to fully read each one to decide if it is worth printing or bookmarking. They can also add their own notes and comments so that they can remember how they might want to apply the information. It is extremely user friendly, as long as you install the web clipper. Just right click and clip!
Evernote Features
After doing our Evernote review we can say with confidence this app is more than just a note-taker.
Note Taking with ease
Evernote has long been a leader among note-taking apps. You can also use it to store and share files, though not in the same way as Box, or Dropbox. The only app that comes close to Evernote's prowess is Microsoft OneNote, which is also an Editors' Choice for note-taking apps.
Easily edit and collaborate your notes
You can create notebooks, which are basically folders, and the notes inside them, but in order to share documents you have to attach them to a note. Then in order to edit the documents, you have to open them from the Evernote desktop app; you can only preview files from the online interface.
Easy search functionality
After you edit a document using the desktop app and save it, the attachment will be updated across all platforms and users, so you don't have to re-upload it. One cool feature: when you embed a file in Evernote, that content becomes fully searchable. The interface resemble other productivity apps with a three-paneled design.
Is the Evernote a collaborative tool?
Yes, team members can collaborate using notes, but users can't simultaneously edit a note. You're alerted if you try to open a note that someone is already editing, however, you can still choose to open it.
Within notes, you can create checklists and set reminders for small-scale project management. Evernote has apps for Android, iOS, and Windows, all of which offer offline access to your files.
Is the Evernote easy to use?
Yes, Evernote is easy to use! When you need help, this study note app allows you to access Evernote's Learning Center, which includes guides for getting started, tutorials, and troubleshooting articles. You can also contact support using a web form; when you provide a specific keyword related to your problem, Evernote provides links to articles that may answer your question.
How Do Evernote's Prices Compare?
Evernote's prices are high among note-taking apps. But price isn't the same as value. As mentioned, Evernote's free option pales in comparison to other free options, namely OneNote. Another good, free option is Zoho Notebook. Then there are a few apps that are free but don't give you many features, such as Apple Notes and Google Keep.
