About Dr. Seuss Treasury

Learning to read can be a pleasure with the right selection of books and for many children, this was the Dr. Seuss books.  Today's children can improve their reading fluency and develop a joy in reading by engaging with all of these books, in an enhanced form, in the official app.

Teacher Review

Children can learn and be entertained with a full library of the world-famous Dr. Seuss books.  They can learn new words, increase their fluency in reading, and improve their understanding of what they have read by diving into these classic children's books.

Anybody who has read the Dr. Seuss stories in traditional paper-based books will be on familiar ground with this app as they are identical right down to the typeface used for the letters.  The text is all intact, the illustrations in their distinctive style are all present, and the zany humour is just as entertaining.

The stories are not without some nods to the dynamic new format on which they are now present.  Interactive elements, animations, and characterful sound effects enliven the traditional media but are done thoughtfully and with reverence to the original look and feel of the classics.

Young readers, still learning to translate letters into words, can follow along as the books are read aloud to them while the individual words are highlighted in time to the narration.  This will be great for them when parents aren't free to help but it can, of course, be turned off.  Parents can indulge in the warm nostalgia of their own childhood by reading familiar stories to their children using this app.

Aside from the enhancements to the books themselves, the app brings advantages to young readers.  With this app, they can take their reading material wherever they go.  Boredom can be abated and reading skills improved at any time and in any place.  Obviously, different screen sizes have their advantages and disadvantages but the books are all readable on any of the devices.

Browsing the books for one in particular or when deciding which to discover anew is easy in the app.  As well as a keyword search, the full library can be browsed by series, date of publication or in alphabetical order.  As there are more than fifty books available this is very useful indeed.

Children who are driven by quantifiable accomplishments and most parents will find the statistics that the app records useful.  It monitors how long the app has been used for reading, how many pages have been viewed, and the number of books completed.  This will help parents to see how much value they are getting from the app and ensure that their child is doing as much independent reading as they should be doing.

Teachers, too, should consider this app.  It adds all of those books to a classroom's device or school library without taking up any extra space.

The Dr. Seuss Treasury Kids Books app is free to download but access to the books is via a subscription.  You'll be glad to hear that there is a 30-day free trial in which to check out the app and see if the books hold the same appeal for your child as they have done for millions of others.  Even if the interest does not last, there's a lot of reading that be can be done in 30 days!
