    Become a master at identifying countries on a map, matching capitals to countries, and identifying flags with StudyGE.  With crystal-clear maps, excellent reporting features, and some reference content, Study GE is a superb tool to have in a Geography teacher's app collection.     The software application ‘BirdsEyePM’ is a graphical project and visualization tool for creating site plans. The application creates building, road paths and vehicles that can be moved at scheduled times. The application has been designed mainly for the industry but could give an insight into project management, town and city design, site-plan mapping, transportation infrastructure and encourage the use of computeraided design. The application is free from in-app adverts and in-app purchases. It is noted that the interface is designed for industry and we recommended that the application should be used by students aged 13 and above.

    Puzzle World is an app designed to help your child with geography. The app has a number of countries to discover each with colourful illustrations and fitting puzzle parts, related to the culture and iconic features. Children learn about national traditions, geography, anthems, country flags and monuments.

    Stack the States is a good tool for teachers to use with students to help them memorize the names of U.S. states and capitals. It works well with reluctant learners who may be motivated by mixing those need-to-know facts with more interesting trivia and fast-paced gameplay. The states become animated characters, with eyes that follow your motions, and because they're so adorable, they'll inspire some kids to play more.

    USATestprep is a web-based app that works on all computers and devices with a modern web browser.  It is designed to help to prepare children for tests in a variety of subjects.  It contains monitoring and assessment tools for teachers as well as learning resources such as a videos and games for students.

    Studying flags can provide an access point to learning about different countries and is a useful element of general knowledge.  From sporting events to political news, being able to identify a country's flag can provide context and understanding.  Geo Flags Academy teaches and secures the skill of flag recognition by employing the format of a multiple-choice quiz.

    Quiver Education is a 3D coloring app that uses augmented reality technology. Quiver is an app that allows coloring pages to pop into 3-D via augmented reality. AR imposes video and audio multimedia components onto “real-world” objects. This 3D coloring app is one of the best virtual reality apps for kids on the market today. The app is available for iOS, Android, and Fire OS.

The two interactive games incorporated with football and whack a Monkey are great fun and push the learner to complete the revision sections. The app is very easy to use, well presented and geared directly at the curriculum.

    Sometimes simple is best and as an educational tool for map discovery this is one of the best. The app is beautiful in presentation and can displayed in three different map options: Detailed world map: This displays the countries, capitals, major road connections and cities. Political world map - This displays the countries as colour coded icons with major cities and capitals only. Clearer and easier to understand than the previous map detail. Physical World Map - This not only provides all of the above but also indicates oceans, rivers, mountain regions and other geographical features. As a map tool for digital devices this is excellent!

    BrainPOP Jr. is a free educational games portal that will suit the classroom learning environment or will do well to support extended learning at home. BrainPOP Jr app is free to download for iOS and Android devices and is suitable for children of all ages. BrainPOP Jr. Movie of the Week provides students will fun and educational movies every week. This app helps develop cognitive skills, life skills, critical thinking and emotional development. BrainPOP Jr. is the digital educational equivalent of trivial pursuit, and equally as fun! All subject areas have been split into subcategories and for each subcategory BrainPOP Jr. have created beautifully animated video’s with accompany quiz testing features with varying levels of difficulty, a cartoon to accompany each subject area, and if that wasn’t enough a subject relative joke has also been included.

    GCSE Geology Prep Flashcards is a helpful revision aid that can be used anywhere. Great for quick sessions on the bus, or just before going to bed, this app will help you form quick associations between a key term and its meaning. More progress tracking options would be a great plus, but this app has received an EAS Certification of 5 Stars.

    A beautifully designed and engaging app for toddlers and preschoolers themed around animals and their habitats.

    Developed for students aged 8 to 12, the app offers a great way to deliver the topic of Volcanoes to your class. The app is full of great content that is easily accessible by a simple menu.   The photographs, timelines, interactive maps, games, quizzes and video content can truly inspire students about this topic.   The Jigsaw Puzzles, created from amazing graphics of volcanoes, prompt users to break apart the puzzle and have some fun by shaking the device and then sliding the pieces back into place.   Students can scramble images of volcanoes in The Magic Square game by shaking their device. The challenge is re-arranging the squares to unscramble the image.   Finally, there is an activity called “Brush Off”. This ties in with Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius. You must use your finger on the screen to “brush off” volcanic smoke. Once you have cleared the screen a photograph of a ruin from Pompeii is revealed. Now you’ve got to figure out the name of the artifact. I learned quite a bit from this activity.   This is a beautiful app full of content and interactive features. Well done Britannica!
