This app is based on the award winning books based on the Adventures of Jack Stalwart. Eight ancient artefacts have been stolen from around the world and your students must recover them using fast facts about each country and solve puzzles by responding to information found in the countries fact file to cracking codes and unscrambling pictures. The students can discover the following eight countries: Thailand, Australia, USA, Cambodia, England, France, Brazil and Egypt. Each location is beautifully presented and will present a challenge to find the ancient artefact to all ages. We particular love the passport feature to create a profile and the stunning graphics. This app would provide a good topic base app for students to discover different cultures and countries and present to the group or in the form of a classroom display.

Kids Academy developed this cute storybook app around the 5 Little Monkeys song - a super easy song that inspired a number of developers to create apps. What’s great about this one? The quality of the music and visuals is great, the fact that little learners (baby, toddlers and preschool children) are able to develop their language skills and learn new words and last but not least it is a fun app. So although the app is good value, priced at $1.99, we would have liked to have more features included and no 1st party advertising so for that reason we awarded it with a 3 star EAS Certification. We do have to say that we still haven’t figured out how to get the song out of our heads – it is so addictive!...’Five little monkeys jumping on the bed...’

The app is great however we would like to see a little focus on learning progression in order to really improve the educational attainment for pupils. This app receives 4 stars.

The more abstract reasoning that puzzles require is a relatively neglected aspect of education for all ages. As mathematics education often focuses on the eventual goal of passing an exam it is easy to work backwards from the exam going through the raw knowledge required to pass, when formulating a program of study. This can often result in abstract reasoning, persistence in problem solving and spatial reasoning being neglected. By making GazziliPuzzles part of its suite of mathematical apps for pre-schoolers, GazziliWorld is doing its part to address this right at the start of a child’s education.
