Dinosaurs are popular amongst kids and adults alike, with the mystery of the prehistoric era being the cause of much childhood excitement. As such, dinosaur apps and games can be a great opportunity for both learning and fun.

    Dino Store is a beautifully illustrated and humorous story of a young boy and his father who accidently brink home some dinosaur eggs from the super market.  Of course the eggs hatch and the adventure begins with the young dinosaurs creating much mayhem in their new home. The app features some lovely interactive features that help make it a very engaging story for young readers.

    This is a very nice app that introduces children to the letters and sounds of the alphabet.  The concept of the app has been created by the acclaimed Swiss children’s author and composer, Roland Zoss. The app is based on hand-drawn illustrations and is of good quality and would suit pre-schoolers or early Primary School pupils who would like to practice their associations between animals and letters. The app goes along with the Animal-ABC Songs which is also available in iTunes.  We have awarded the app an EAS Certification of 5 Stars.

    The Britannica encyclopedia has turned to the world of dinosaurs and children thanks to its application, Britannica Kids: Dinosaurs , whose name is as descriptive as possible. Mixing the potential of Britannica with dinosaurs, and all geared towards children. The result is an app in English with a lot of information, including both text and images, puzzles or related games.

    Walking With Dinosaurs is a great choice as a reference app for dinosaur enthusiasts of any age, and wins our Editors' Choice as an educational iPad app. BBC Worldwide and its BBC Earth team have collaborated with the original developer to bring this comprehensive interactive dinosaur encyclopedia to the iPad.

The text is informative and at a reading level suitable for the children for whom the app is intended. A good overview of paleontology, illustrated with useful color diagrams, is included.
