What is Amazon Kids+

Amazon Kids+ is a paid subscription service that gives unlimited access to a slew of content specifically made for children, including books, videos, apps, audiobooks, and educational material – sorted by three age groups: 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. Amazon Kids offers access to a catalog of over 20,000 books, movies, audiobooks, games and Spanish-language content.

Amazon Kids will organize its various sections  like “Educational,” “Apps & Games,” “Music,” “Videos,” “Books,” and more under colorful app icons. Below these are rows of image thumbnails offering more thematic groupings and recommendations, like a row of “top brands,” the child’s recently viewed content, or a row of suggested games, for example.

Amazon Kids+ has content from a wide range of providers like Disney, Nickelodeon, Sesame Street, PBS Kids, and more to help educate and entertain your child. With characters kids love, such as Mikey Mouse, Daniel Tiger, and Scooby-Doo, to popular movies and series from Lego and Star Wars, there is so much for your little ones to enjoy. You'll find those characters in books, games, and movies across all age ranges. There are classic books to new hits, all ready for your child to enjoy.

How much does Amazon Kids costs?

This paid tier costs $2.99 per month for a single child, or $6.99 per month for a family, if Prime subscribers. Those prices jump a bit to $4.99 per month and $9.99 per month, if non-Prime customers. Discounts for longer time commitments are also available, as with the $69 annual family plan for Prime customers. 

Any customers who already subscribe to Amazon Kids+ on their Fire Kids Tablets or compatible devices will be able to upgrade to Amazon Kids+ on Alexa for free.

What devices are compatible with Amazon Kids+?

Amazon Kids+ will continue to work across a range of platforms, including Fire tablets, Fire TV, Kindle, Echo, iOS, Chrome OS and Android devices.

How to stop Amazon Kids+ Subscription

You can manage or cancel your Amazon Kids+ subscription at any time from the Parent Dashboard.

1. Go to Parent Dashboard and select Menu.
2. Select Manage Amazon Kids+ subscription.
3. Select Cancel Amazon Kids+ subscription and follow the prompts.

Parental Controls on Amazon Kids+

Parents will love the filters and controls built into the service, while kids will love all of the great content.  Amazon Kids+ gives parents a special dashboard to control what content their child is able to see and access. Parents are able to set screen time limits, filter out any content that is not age appropriate and review activity that’s recorded on the account – so there’s no chance of a child browsing social media without your consent.
