Adventure Academy is a kids' online learning program from the creators of ABCmouse and ReadingIQ. It focuses on five subjects: math, reading, language arts, science, and social studies. Adventure Academy is kidSAFE and COPPA certified.
The learning experience in Adventure Academy is highly gamified and takes place in a virtual school where the other pupils are students from around the world. There is the option to include social interactions of different levels, with players completing quests to drive forward their learning. They view videos, read books, and engage in interactive activities as part of their learning.

A more linear option through the learning material as an alternative to the virtual world would open up new possibilities for educators to support kids using the app.

Our reviewer's recommendation
With its high-quality graphics, content, gameplay, expansive curriculum and highly motivating reward system, Adventure Academy combines education with the feel of modern mainstream video games to create an educational platform that your kids will ask to use. As I've said above, it is not an app to underpin kids' learning or help them address specific difficulties, but as a supplemental learning experience it is a five-star app.
