5 Great Maths Apps for Pi Day
Here at the Educational App Store, we are always looking for excuses to get ourselves mega-excited about maths! What better reason than World Math Week, which this year kicks off with Pi Day on 14th March and then runs runs up until 20th March?! This monumental worldwide maths extravaganza is launched with the 29th annual Pi Day and sees schools and colleges around the world celebrating maths excellence and achievement in myriad ways.
We are showcasing some of our best maths apps for you to use with your pupils as part of your World Math Day celebrations and which are fabulous resources for you to use in the classrooms, in booster groups or to recommend to parents for use at home.
DragonBox Elements is beautifully illustrated game that introduces children to geometry and geometric proof. Children are guided through the game and are introduced to different shape-based characters. As they progress through the game, they must solve different puzzles that require them to draw and identify different shapes. Whilst playing the game, children explore the properties of shapes and angles.

Maths Tutor app is a flexible learning and teaching tool that offers a wealth of interactive content to help improve understanding of key topics (addition,subtraction,multiplication,fractions and so on).
A space and shape based app for exploring the properties of three-dimensional shapes, from volume and nets to cutting slices from a shape. This app allows users to really explore a shape, rotating it, zooming in and out, identifying faces, edges and vertices.
